Exfoliation is one of the essential part of your skincare routine. It is the process of removing dead skin cells from the outer layer of your skin, using either a chemical or physical exfoliant. Physical exfoliation involves using a skin care tool, such as sponge, towel or brush on your skin to displace and remove dead skin cells. While chemical exfoliation involves using a liquid, gel or scrub with AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) or enzymes to loosen the glue-like substance that holds the dead skin cells together to remove them.

Build up of dead skin cells can make the skin looks dull, dry and scaly. Regular exfoliation will help to remove these dead skin cells, leaving your skin smooth, soft and glowing. Having a smoother skin will also helps your makeup application be more effortless and the final look flawless.
Build up of dead skin cells can lead to excess oil and clogged pores, which leads to breakouts. Regular exfoliation will help to clean the dirt and oil out the pores, thus preventing acne. It is especially important for people with oily or acne prone skin to exfoliate their skin on regular basis.
Dead skin cells, if not remove regularly, can clog pore and cause congestion or blackheads, which blocks the absorption of skin care products. Removing the dead skin cells regularly will help your skin to absorb moisture, hydration and the skin care products better

Among all, I find peeling gel is a more gentle and safer way to exfoliate your skin. The gel actually helps to dissolve and remove the dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling smooth, soft and renewed.
There are many different brands of peeling gel in the market. But I have been using the Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel for many years and I always make sure that I stock it up whenever I visit Japan. The Rosette Gommage Peeling Gelis actually very similar to the top ratedCure Natural Aqua Gel, but it is so much more cheaper.
Unlike theCure Natural Aqua Gel,the Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel comes in two variations – Blue and Red. Having won the Cosme Award for three consecutive years, the Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel is well-loved by both Japanese and tourists.
WATER, GLYCERIN, STEARTRIMONIUM CHLORINE, ALCOHOL, CARBOMER, LACTIC ACID, GLUCOSE, CITRIC ACID, ALLANTOIN, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT,METHYLPARABEN,FRAGRANCE, MALIC ACID, ETHANOLAMINE,
The main ingredient of the Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel is AHA fruit Acids. There are 3 kinds of acids used in this product – Lactic Acid, Citric Acid and Malic Acid. AHAs are proven to have an exfoliative effect, which removes dead skin cells and starts cell renewal, thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It cleanses pores in depth and smooth the skin surface out.
It is free of mineral oil and colors, but contains alcohol, paraben and fragrance, which might not be suitable for people with sensitive skin. I would recommend people with sensitive skin to do a patch test first before using this product on the entire face.

The Rosette Gommage Peeling Gelcomes in a soft white plastic tube with a blue flip top cap, containing 120 g of the product. I love the soft plastic tube because it is easy to squeeze the product out. It is pretty lightweight too, making it travel friendly.

I will always see a visible difference (especially when you are having flaky skin) in my skin immediately after using the product. Not only my skin looks clearer and brighter, it also feels smoother and softer.
There are a lot of exfoliation or facial scrub products that are too harsh and remove too much skin, causing dryness and irritation to the skin. But the Rosette Gommage Peeling Gel is very gentle as I did not feel any burning sensation while I was using the product on my skin. I love that my skin does not feel tight or dry after exfoliating.

The gel itself is semi translucent. It is light weight and has a watery consistency. The consistency is slightly thicker than theCure Natural Aqua Gel, but does not feel sticky at all. Just as its name suggests, this is a gel, so it does not contain any exfoliating beads, thus it is not abrasive on the skin.

It has a subtle fruity floral scent, but it is pretty mild and not overpowering at all. The scent disappears almost instantly once you washed the gel off with water.
It is suggested that you use this on freshly cleansed dry skin. Your skin has to be absolutely when you used this product. Squeeze a large grape sized amount of the gel on dry hand and gently massage the product onto your face in circular motions. No harsh rubbing is required and make sure you avoid the skin near eyes and lips.
As you massage the product on your skin, small white clumps will begin to form. Continue until there are no product left on the skin. It was pretty satisfying to see little balls of “”dead skins”” forming on my skin. Well the little white clumps are not actually dead skins. Rather it is a combination of dirt, oil and some dead cells that are dissolved and removed from your skin.
Once you are done with the rubbing, you actually have to wash it off than peel if off. The product can also be used on other parts of the body other than the face such as elbows, knees and heels. I use it for 1-3 times a weeks or whenever my skin looks dull and feels rough, or flakey to the touch. Since the product is very gentle, you can also increase the use frequency depending on your skin condition. But I would not recommend exfoliating your skin more than thrice a week as over-exfoliation might strip your skin”s protective layers, which can cause various skin issues. I suggest that you exfoliate before using a face sheet mask as it will help your skin to absorb every bit of the essence.
